Congratulations to Miss Terry Dewar for being selected as the 2020 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award! Terry was selected out of 37 nominees-here are just a few comments that were shared with the committee about Miss Dewar.
“Terry is a woman of principle in her teaching and in her staff involvement. She loves her students as individuals and personalizes her teaching techniques to urge each student and all students to achieve the best and most possible, including AP students. Terry is a leader among the school staff and very involved in faculty activities. Her presence is always positive, calming and smiling.”
“Her students know they can always come to her for help.”
“Ms. Dewar is the epitome of grace and stewardship, faith and excellence, an example of Christian Leadership and commitment, putting Christ first in all she does. She will have conversations in English class about morning prayer, or a homily at Mass, or some current day events happening in our world and connects them to faith and the students‘ walk with Christ.”
“She is truly the best and a teacher I aspire to be more like!!”
Miss Dewar’s time in the classroom at All Saints spans decades. She has touched the lives of many students and inspired many minds. Terry’s passion for all things All Saints shines through in everything she does.
We, the students and staff of All Saints, would like to extend our most sincere Congratulations to Miss Dewar on this very well deserved award~we are so grateful that you are part of our All Saints family. God Bless You, Miss Dewar.
A message from some of your favorite staff. Stay Strong Cougars!
While sitting at home getting lesson plans ready for her Chemistry class, Mrs. Cieszlak had an epiphany. She remembered that in her classroom she had some personal protective equipment that could be of great use to our local Public Safety Officers and those in the medical field. We at All Saints are proud to say that we were able to donate 200 N95 masks to Bay City’s PSO’s and numerous boxes of lab coats to McLaren Bay Region for their employees to keep them safe during this pandemic.
Lord Jesus, we come to you this day and ask for your mercy and healing power to cover our world, country, town and especially our All Saints Central community. Every student, sibling, parent, guardian, teacher, staff member, volunteer, coach, friend, supporter, alumni, priest and religious needs your protection and guidance.
Help us, Lord, as we stay at home and fight this; as we pray for the the medical community and the world as it races for a prevention, cure and treatment. Please hear our cries for relief from this pandemic, combined with the cries and efforts from those around the world as we seek hope, peace and healing.
We understand that this illness has affected all of us. It has touched every aspect of our lives and at times we can feel overwhelmed and afraid. However, let us not forget that You are bigger than all of this. Your mercy and presence are greater than all of our needs combined. Our ASC families that are touched by the effects of this virus through illness, separation and loss of job security know that they do not stand alone. Lord, we know You stand with us, before us and behind us as this battle rages-You do not leave us abandoned.
Dear Lord, may we always be a reflection of Your light within and trust in Your love and amazing grace.
All Saints, pray for us. Amen.
