PRAYER Today we remember St. Nicholas Owen who lived in the 16th century in England. He joined the Jesuits as a lay brother and during the time of persecution of Catholics in England, he traveled during the day repairing homes and used his carpentry skills at night to build hiding places for the priests.     He was finally caught, tortured but refused to give up information regarding the "Catholic Underground."  He died a martyr for the faith.

Dearest Jesus, we ask your grace on this day and blessings on those who are in our schools as they view the work that has been done, and the work you have yet set before us. We pray for this team and for all the school in our diocese and beyond, that teach the Way the Truth and your Life.  Help us be courageous in our faith. St. Nicholas, pray for us.  All Saints, pray for us.  Amen

Loving God, you call us to be servants to all. We ask your grace to give us the ability to give with a servant's heart.  May we put others needs before ours, may we not look for anything in return, may we respond with love and charity to all who ask our help.  St. Cuthbert, pray for us.  All Saints, pray for us.  Amen
